| The Market at Masdar City |

The UAE community enthusiastically savoured its first glimpse into Masdar City, one of the world’s most sustainable urban developments, during the inaugural ‘The Market @ Masdar City’, a first-of-a-kind, family-focused street fair and organic market.
Hosted by Masdar City, the one-day fair on 29 April attracted a large number of visitors to Abu Dhabi. The Market @ Masdar City featured organic foods and products, spa services, as well as other retail and restaurant booths. The fair had a raffle draws with prizes, while younger visitors were entertained with workshops, games, balloonists, handicrafts, henna designs and face painting, as well as live performances from entertainers, magicians and bubble makers. Guests also utilised the opportunity to ride the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric vehicles (EV) and the driver-less electric-powered Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) pods.
“The event aimed at creating awareness among the UAE community, highlighting the benefits of sustainable living at one of the world’s most environment-friendly urban developments,” said Ahmed Baghoum, Director, City Zone, Masdar City. “The extent of interest among the visitors today surpassed our expectations and we are confident the street fair managed to instill a sense of responsibility and commitment towards adapting sustainable practices in their everyday lives.”
